Social Media Strategist

We’re looking for a Social Media Strategist with a knack for conquering the ever-changing world of social media.

The Social Media Strategist is a highly collaborative thought-leader who has a strong POV on the value of social media for brands. You must have a deep understanding of platforms (and their uses), paid media planning, campaign activation and a passion for innovating new ways for brands to come to life on social media. This position is responsible for developing paid and non-paid social media content strategies and delivering business-driven results. You must be able to implement and optimize comprehensive social media strategies, clearly communicate strategic points-of-view and keep clients & internal teams up-to-date on best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

Social Media & Content Strategy:

  • Collaborating on social media activation strategies and campaign support plans
  • Developing social-specific benchmarks and KPIs
  • Responsible for implementation, evolution and optimization of social content strategy
  • Development of monthly content/editorial calendar in partnership with content and creative teams
  • Partnership with creative team for content brainstorming, development and social-first execution
  • Partnership with media teams and agencies on paid media planning and recommendations
  • Leadership on community management best practice
  • Leadership on influencer partnerships and brand collaborations on behalf of clients

Reporting and Analytics:

  • Leads development of insights and optimization recommendations on monthly and/or quarterly reports

Creative Collaboration:

  • Working with agency creative team to plan for and produce social-first assets
  • Driving agency POV on social content best practices

Client Leadership Initiatives:

  • Directly communicating with clients
  • Taking ownership of social education for agency & client teams


  • 3-5 years previous social media experience at an agency required
  • Highly organized and articulate
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Strong multi-tasker with the ability to work effectively with minimal direction and supervision
  • A self-starter comfortable in a fast paced environment, juggling multiple assignments on tight timeline
  • A creative thinker with the ability to analyze data and develop strategic recommendations
  • An understanding of paid media planning and social ad units
  • Demonstrated experience with and passion for social media, measurement & listening platforms (i.e., Instagram, YouTube, Facebook Insights, Google Analytics, Sprout etc.)
  • Knowledge of creative/visual best practices and principles for social and digital project
  • A passion for the “science of social” and the numbers behind the hashtags and viral videos
